About Us
My name is David Long and I have one of the best jobs in the world. I run a digital marketing agency with offices in the Hamsphire countryside (where I live) and in the heart of Paris, just behind the Louvre Museum. Why Paris? Because we have a great team of highly talented people who want to live and work in Paris. As a buisness we specialise in working with companies who want to create and deliver effective marketing strategies.
This blog is designed to help you explore our business from a slightly different perspective, to see the work that we do, and to help you to discover new ideas that can help you put it all this talk about digital marketing into the context of real life business marketing.
A little bit about me
In 2001, after a career in corporate marketing in the technology industry, I set up a successful marketing consultancy, delivering outsourced marketing solutions to emerging companies. Then followed seven years of ‘mashing up’ traditional marketing skills and processes with the latest digital marketing solutions, delivering real success for my clients. Here are just a few examples:
1. Professional services organization tripled their revenue within 3 months – OK that was exceptional!
2. High tech peripherals company experienced a 400% growth in market share within 6 months – that wasn’t exceptional, it was just “great planning and execution on David’s part” – the words of Jacques Sylvander, now the CEO of Nokia France
3. Software hosting start-up built their sales pipeline from zero to 4 times their first year target within 3 months of launch
During those seven, successful years, I realised that what the world needed was a solid agency offering that combined strategy with a highly talented and creative team of digital marketing talent would create a solid business proposition. In 2008 that vision was realised when I set up mktgDIGITAL in conjunction with my business partner, Richard Bessis. Since then we have been adding more value to our clients and gaining some new customers both in France and the UK.
